Error after compiling Molpro with -i8 on Linux

Hello!

I managed to compile&link Molpro on a Linux i686 Machine after some
minor changes in the code with the option -i8
without getting warning or error messages

(from CONFIG:
  CC="cc -Dpgf90 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64"
  FC="pgf90 -tp p6 -pc 64 -i8"   )

but starting of molpro fails:

# molpro < test.in :
---------------------------
Including file molproi.rc
***,bla
... the input lines follow
--------------------------
End of output, no further messages.

My question: what causes this ?
Do I need a special parse-object  i686-...-linux...--i8.o.gz  ?
