Dear Evgeniy,

The configuration options necessary for opteron have not and will not be 
backported to 2002.1. You will need to upgrade to 2002.6 in order to 
compile on opteron.

To compile in 64bit on opteron you will either the portland (works in 
serial and parallel) or pathscale (works in serial only at present) 
compiler. Recent tests with version 8.1 of the intel compiler in 64bit 
have not been successful. Further details:
