This appears to be a very old and unsupported version of Molpro, you need to use something more recent.

While running ./configure -i8 , i get the following error :
Could not find getopt_long in c library, using alternateCannot link with any objects !This architecture or combination of architecture and integersize is proably not supported. Sorry ....
